Job Summary:
The Commercial Loan Workout (CLW) Analyst will primarily provide analytical support to the CLW Senior Managing Director team leaders. The CLW organizational structure includes a workout team dedicated to Business Banking, ABL and SSF, CRE, Middle Market and EF. This role will provide the incumbent with cross-team workout experience, learning key CLW processes, including quarterly PAR meetings, and impairment analyses. The incumbent will also garner hands-on experience working with professional workout transactors on active distressed and problem loan situations across the directly managed and Bright-Lined portfolio.
Key responsibilities for the role:
Work directly with the various CLW team leads to develop an in-depth understanding of key CLW processes, including quarterly PAR meetings and impairment analyses.
Develop a strong understanding of Sageworks to assist in improved data capture, identification of anomalies, and overall reporting.
Work directly with CLW transactors to gain a working knowledge of active workout situations across the various asset classes. Gain an understanding of the workout life cycle, with a focus on maximizing recoveries and minimizing credit closes, while learning various workout strategies.
Assist in matters related to CLW problem loan credit policy and process.
Work on special projects as needed, including portfolio data gathering and Bright Line Waiver portfolio assignments.
Skills, Experience & qualifications for the role:
Undergraduate degree in finance or adjacent discipline.
2-4 years of experience in finance / lending.
Working knowledge of ABL, Business Banking (including SBA), CRE, Middle Market and Sponsor Finance lending concepts, including understanding of metrics that are critical to analyzing deal / portfolio asset quality.
High degree of competency with Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint.
Ability to work independently and multi-task.
Familiarity with Webster commercial lending structure (i.e., Lines of Business) preferred.
Familiarity with Webster data visualization tools (e.g., Spectra) a plus.
The estimated salary range for this position is $72,000USD to $82,000USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
