The Operations Analyst will study and assist with documentation of organizational process flows. This role will be expected to recommend and be actively involved in implementation of improvements to reduce operational risk by ensuring compliance with banking regulations, laws, internal standards and/or changes that will decrease errors and increase productivity. This position will also research and compare multiple avenues of workflows, assist with department analysis, validate/test requirements for process changes when needed and conduct internal audits.


Job Duties:

  1. Assist teams with current and future state business process mapping
  2. Evaluate operational procedures and processes to identify areas of deficiency or improvement for compliance and/or productivity
  3. Evaluate Voice of Customer information for trends and process improvements
  4. Conduct investigative internal audits of bank's adherence to banking regulations, laws and internal standards
  5. Document findings and corresponding recommendations for corrective action or improvements
  6. Communicate recommended procedure enhancements to appropriate management personnel
  7. Test recommended enhancements to ensure expected results will be achieved
  8. Work closely with end users to ensure changes have been successfully implemented
  9. Track and monitor enhancements, corrective actions and issue resolution through completion
  10. Maintain strong knowledge of all current and proposed applicable banking regulations and laws
  11. Work with IT as necessary for reporting and data needs
  12. Other operational analysis as needed by management
Education, Experience & Skills:
  • High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Accounting, Finance or Economics
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in audit or compliance related position, preferably within a financial institution
  • Six Sigma training or certification desired, but not required
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, shifting deadlines, and manage time efficiently
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills for interaction with management
  • Proven ability to work independently
  • Strong knowledge of banking laws and regulations
  • Strong Excel -- importing files, writing formulas, creating charts/graphs, performing vlook ups, other data analytics
