Job Summary:

This position is 50% project work and 50% team management. Individuals in this role will act as a subject matter experts assigned to strategic HSA Line of Business portfolio projects representing the Operations Departments, including but not limited to all of Member Services and/or Partner Services. The team will provide cross departmental support related to the strategic initiatives, continuous improvement and incident management/ troubleshooting/problem solving.  Project involvement will include driving business plans from ideation through execution including coordination of design efforts across the organization, drafting requirements, use cases, user acceptance test cases, performing testing, and sign off for go live approvals for some of highest priority company initiatives.  This position oversees the efforts of other department leaders and teams as they relate to the strategic initiatives, provides input into risk and SOx controls, and supports ongoing development of continuous improvement utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies and other best business practices. This individual will be assigned to support various projects themselves, in addition to leading team members through their project commitments, developing performance measurements, assigning and managing team workload, and capacity planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide functional leadership in support of strategic initiatives. 
  • May function as Project Manager for smaller initiatives where appropriate. Develop, facilitate, and execute comprehensive project plans, schedules, vendor- related agreements, facilitate project meetings and provide regularly status reports.
  • Partner with line of business leaders to design, write requirements, develop test cases, perform user acceptance testing and provide approvals as applicable to assigned initiatives.
  • Support, update and review process flows and procedures for assigned initiatives.
  • Perform quality review and provide feedback for applicable training programs.
  • Participate in the evaluation and design of procedures/processes for best practices, including operational controls ensuring line of business meets regulatory, SOx, and other line of defense established requirements.
  • Evaluate and manage key performance criteria such as, adherence to procedures, quality of service ratings, and efficiency outputs for assigned projects and as well as team performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate waste, create efficiencies, maximize productivity, and grow business.
  • Manage, track, and analyze identified continuous improvement opportunities for realization of projected savings.
  • Engage w/ MD and SMD of Operations in long-term, strategic planning, and provide support to ensure that all Operational strategic goals are achieved.
  • Manage team of subject matter experts and analysts to support organizational needs, including project assignment, capacity planning, and closely monitoring outputs to ensure project commitments are met.
  • Develop, maintain and report monthly individual and team performance metrics.
  • Lead weekly team meetings, provide weekly status updates to management, and conduct individual 1:1 meetings with each direct report.

Skills & Experience:

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ yrs. experience in healthcare accounts/products desired
  • Demonstrate advanced skills in process management, problem analysis and organization
  • Measurable experience in driving process improvement and effective change management
  • Project support experience in requirements definition, test case creating, and test execution
  • Experience in identification and mitigation of operational risk
  • Effective executive level communications skills. Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills needed
  • Strong mentoring and relationship building skills with ability to effectively manage group and interpersonal conflict situations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to attracts, motivate, develop, and retain a strong team, setting high standards for performance and committed to organizational goals and values

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000USD to $125,000USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
