The Lead Systems Engineer will make independent, creative, and technical contributions to installing and managing system or server configurations and providing maintenance to ensure the integrity of the operating environment (monitor performance, predict requirements, implement changes, etc.).  The Lead SE assignments will include oversight of 3rd party software packages, addressing security related issues, maintaining service accounts, resolving pertinent incidents, and assisting with other tasks as assigned. On-call and after-hours support is expected in this role.  In this role, design and systems architecture abilities are needed for building or updating our systems. The Lead. SE will also be expected to mentor, guide, and supervise less experienced SE’s, validating their work as needed and providing corrective measures to ensure quality work is delivered.


  • Coordinate and plan the organization’s information technology architecture.
  • Plan for hardware resource availability and network interfaces.
  • Oversee network interface planning and developing new applications.
  • Evaluate technical requirements for systems and utilities; recommend changes as necessary.
  • Manage product assessment and evaluate vendor products and services.
  • Ensure that disaster recovery needs are integrated into contingency plans
  • Maintain all IT DR plans, plan and execute recovery and testing of IT systems.
  • Work collaboratively with all IT teams including Development, network, storage, server, change management
  • Prepare reports for Director regarding effectiveness of infrastructure.
  • Design, build and support mission critical systems such as debit card processing systems, core banking platforms, web servers, file servers, application and database servers.
  • Participate in after-hours support rotations and provide support on an on-call basis.
  • Provide technical direction and training to support teams and business partners.
  • Monitor performance and capacity using various tools including Solarwinds Orion, SCOM, Nimsoft, PowerShell and report on pre-established SLAs.
  • Manage HSAB mechanical service contracts and schedules for generators, AC, UPS and vendor hardware.
  • Develop DR strategy and lead DR testing initiatives, maintain DR plans.
  • Function as team liaison for business and provide technical direction as needed.
  • Capacity planning lead for network WAN/LAN, storage and servers.
  • Monitor system logs, manage security certificates, plan backups and disaster recovery.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of relational databases.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required.
  • 6-7 years of professional IT experience.
  • Progressively responsible experience with mainframe and internetworking architectures in a production data center, or supporting a major operating system in a full scale, large volume production environment.
  • Ability to work in and adapt to a changing environment.
